Melting Pot...

Some people see assimilation as betrayal to their cultural. As if one was to ashamed of where their from they  act like the majority of the population; they would either add to their upbringing or they would get rid of some traditions. Assimilation is when we take new information and incorporate them with our ideas to fit in with our already existing beliefs . As for A Raisin in the Sun  there is a young women, Beneatha she is trying to become a doctor. This young lady lives with her family in a one bedroom apartment, all she wants to do is better her skills and abilities to improve her living status. Some say the career choice is out of her reach not only is it uncommon for a girl to be a doctor in this time period but one of Beneatha's race as well. Shes not trying to fight in or ignore who she is but she only wants to better her future, she sees what it cost to live with out stress and the first step to that is to get a education and have a career that guaranties a strong income. Shes living in AMERICA the land of opportunities, mixing her culture and lifestyles with other classes not changing completely who she is.

Happy Family...

Hmm... I guess saying that my family is more important than I'm, sounds better. Just kidding of course my family is more important than I'm. The one person that must always be in a some what good mood is my mom. If shes not in a pleasant mood she is like the queen of hearts, wanting off with our heads. The day  is like walking through a mine field you don't know what will set her off; once shes proclaimed her frustration all you can do is avoid her as much as you can and no harm will be brought upon you. As for my brothers I could careless if their day was not the bomb, their the last ones I need to be sure to please. But if I'm in the mix of their little PMS tantrum then I'm highly at risk of my head and weekend being brutally chopped. I suppose my families happiness has a great effect on  me happiness. So in the end it does go back to being about me. A happy mom means enjoying a calm productive weekend catching up on homework:)

how i see the American Dream

The American dream was the life people thought they'd never have the chance at having unless they were living in America. there were great number of opportunities that were offered. There was a chance at having a new life, a improved life. I see it as the opportunities to strive for what you most desire and there's nothing that can stop you from exceeding, only you. You can fail time and time again but its up to you to try once more until you've succeeded. Your dream is possible.

things about me

Hey, I'm Genave Flores i love to laugh and enjoy good company. I'm not a fan of warm weather, I enjoy the crisp air of the fall and winter. During the fall you can find me outside besides a pack of marsh mellows surrounding a bond fire with the people I cherish so very much me amigos! I act in the spare of the moment, I'm not on the run from the law... not yet. I'm very goofy, I enjoy jokes and cute sayings very much. I'm a loyal and caring friend, I can sing the sing to your heart if you forget it. I like to stay in motion, I don't like to sit and waste a day away. I make the most out of every day.
